NEWSWORTHY NOTES 2011

December 2011 - The Puppies Have Arrived! On Dec 15, Zenyatta (Ch Jasiri-Sukari Zenyatta) gave birth to 5 red and white puppies - 4 boys and 1 girl. The litter is sired by Winston (GCh Jasiri-Sukari Win Tin Tin) We look forward to seeing how these babies grow.

November 2011 - Another Group 3rd for Winston!
On Nov 18, Winston (GCh Jasiri-Sukari Win Tin Tin) earned another 3rd place in the Hound Group.
The show was Canada Del Oro and the judge was Mr Charles Olvis.

October 2011 - Specilaty Best for Winston!
On Oct 30, Winston (GCh Jasiri-Sukari Win Tin Tin) was Best In Sweepstakes and Best of Breed the South Coast Basenji Fanciers Specialty.
The sweepstakes judge was Dr Carolyn Hensley.
The Specilaty judge was Mrs Marsha Hall Brown.

September 2011 - Winston At The National! On Sep 25, Winston (GCh Jasiri-Sukari Win Tin Tin) was awarded Best Opposite Sex at the Basenji Club of America National Specialty! The judge was Basenji breeder Lisa Tyler (England). 4 Specialties, 4 Best of Opposite Sex wins... We are very, very proud of this young man.

September 2011 - Winston Does It Again!
On Sep 20, Winston (GCh Jasiri-Sukari Win Tin Tin) turned 9 months old.
He also earned another Specialty Best Opposite Sex!
This time it was at the Basenji Club of Southeasten Wisconsin Specialty and the judge was Mr Michael Dougherty.

September 2011 - The Basenji World Receives The Best News Ever!
On Sep 12, Dr Gary Johnson from the University of Missouri announced that he found the gene responsible for Fanconi Syndrome.
This means that we now have a direct gene DNA test.
If breeders test their breeding stock and make sure every litter has at least one clear parent - NO BASENJI FROM THIS DAY FORWARD, SHOULD EVER DEVELOP FANCONI!

September 2011 - We said goodbye to our beloved Timmy... On Sep 19, we lost our beloved Timmy (BIS, BISS Dual Ch Jasiri-Sukari The Illustrated Man SC, LCX). Timmy was diagnosed with end-stage lymphoma on Sep 06. Our vet said that he would not last long and, sadly, she was right. When he would no longer eat, we had to let him go. Timmy was 11 1/2 years old. He was our top winning dog with 5 All-Breed Best In Show wins along with 5 Best In Specialty wins. But above all, he was the perfect pet - always a gentleman. Our lives will not be the same without him...

August 2011 - Grand Champion Winston!
On Aug 28, Winston (GCh Jasiri-Sukari Win Tin Tin) earned the final points needed for his Grand Champion title.
At only 8 months old, Winston is the youngest Basenji to earn a Grand Championship!

August 2011 - Another Group Placement for Winston! On Aug 13, Winston (Ch Jasiri-Sukari Win Tin Tin) was awarded Best of Breed at South Bay KC show under judge Mrs Jane Roppolo. Mrs Roppolo later awarded Winston 3rd in the Hound Group!

August 2011 - Prada Earns a Major!
On Aug 12, Prada (Jasiri-Sukari Just My Style) was awarded Winners Bitch at the Penn Ridge KC by judge Mrs Betty-Anne Stenmark.
This win earned Prada a 4 point major - from the 6-9 month puppy class!
Congratulations to co-owner and handler, Eileen Bailey.

August 2011 - Winston's Second Specialty!
On Aug 05, Winston (Ch Jasiri-Sukari Win Tin Tin) was awarded Best Opposite Sex at the Evergreen Basenji Club Specialty by judge Mrs Edna K Martin.

July 2011 - Great Weekend for Merlin!
On Jul 29, Merlin (Jasiri-Sukari Puff of Magic) was awarded Reserve Winners Dog at the Basenji Club of Southeastern Wisconsin Specialty under judge Ms Patricia Murphy.
Two days later, Merlin was Winners Dog and Best of Winners at the Waukesha KC show for a 5 point major. This win gave Merlin the final points needed for the completion of his Championship.
The judge was Mrs Monica Canestrini.
Congratulations to co-owner and handler, Heather Mentzos.

July 2011 - Winston's First Specialty!
On Jul 22, Winston (Ch Jasiri-Sukari Win Tin Tin) was awarded Best Opposite Sex at the Willamette Valley Basenji Club Specialty by judge Mrs Virginia Lyne.
We're extra proud of this win, considering that Winston is just 7 months old!

July 2011 - Aspen Makes Basenji History!
Aspen (Jasiri-Sukari Rocky Mtn Tri SC, MX, MXJ, MXP, MJP) is the first Basenj iin history to have earned all 4 Excellent B titles in agility.
A huge "Congratulations" to Aspen and owner/handler Renee Meriaux!!!

July 2011 - Winston Becomes Champion # 90!
On Jul 08, Winston (Jasiri-Sukari Win Tin Tin) was awarded Winners Dog and Best of Winners at the Channel City KC show by judge Mrs Leslie Hiltz.
The following day, he was awarded Winners Dog, Best of Winners and Best of Breed from the classes at the Santa Maria Kc show by judge Mrs Joan Anselm. This win gave Winston his 3rd major and the final points needed to complete his Championship - at just 6 months and 2 weeks of age!

Winston is the 90th Champion for Jasiri-Sukari.

Needless to say, we're very excited about this young dog.

July 2011 - We lost our wonderful Tommy... On Jul 05, Tommy (BISS, BIF Dual Ch Jasiri-Sukari Juri Maguire MC, LCX2, CGC) lost his fight with bone marrow disease. He managed to fight it for almost a year, but he just couldn't do it anymore. Rather then watch him suffer, we had him humanely euthanized... Tommy was 13 1/2 years old and was a great dog in the ring, on the field and in our home. He will be greatly missed...

July 2011 - New Champion Leo!
On Jul 03, Leo (Jasiri-Sukari The Line King) was awarded Winners Dog and Best of Breed at the Long Beach KC show under judge Mrs Anne Katona.
This win gave Leo the final point needed to complete his Championship, making him the 89th Champion for Jasiri-Sukari.
Leo is the forth and final dog to finish from the litter between Bronco and Leezza (the first litter for each).
Congrats to co-owner and handler, Kathleen Wood.

July 2011 - Winston Does It Again!
On Jul 02, Winston (Jasiri-Sukari Win Tin Tin) was awarded another Best of Breed from the classes!
This time at the KC of Beverly Hills show under hound-breeder judge Mr Dana Cline.
Winston then went on to place 3rd in the Hound Group under another hound-breeder judge - Dr Edna Martin.
Needless to say, we're very excited about this young dog.

June 2011 - Big Wins for Winston!
On Jun 23, at the age of 6 month and 3 days, Winston (Jasiri-Sukari Win Tin Tin) was awarded Winners Dog at the Yellowstone Valley KC by judge Mr Charles Olvis for a 5 point major!
Then, on Jun 26, Winston was awarded Winners Dog, Best of Winners and Best of Breed at the Five Valley KC show for another 5 point major. The judge this day was Mr Lowell Davis.
10 points and both majors at just 6 months and 1 week old - how exciting is that?

June 2011 - Merlin Wins The Breed!
On Jun 23, Merlin (Jasiri-Sukari Puff of Magic) was awarded Winners Dog, Best of Winners and Best of Breed at the Anoka County Minnesota KC show for a 5 point major!
The judge was Mrs Beverly Capstick.

June 2011 - Another Group Placement for Bronco!
On Jun 18, Bronco (Gch Jasiri-Sukari Bucking The Trind) was awarded 4th in the Hound Group at the Bahia Sur KC show by judge Mr Albert Berrios.

June 2011 - One More Group Win for Bronco! On Jun 05, Bronco (Gch Jasiri-Sukari Bucking The Trind) was again awarded 1st in the Hound Group!! This time at the KC of Pasadena show by judge Mrs Barbara J O'Neill. We're very, very proud of this young man!

May 2011 - Another Group Win for Bronco!
On May 21, Bronco (Gch Jasiri-Sukari Bucking The Trind) was awarded 1st in the Hound Group at the Mt Palomar KC show by judge Mrs Susan St John Brown.
We're very proud that Bronco continues to win under hound breeder judges.

May 2011 - Champion Cricket!
On May 21, Cricket (Jasiri-Sukari Congo Lines) was Winners Bitch and Best of Winners at the Mt Palomar KC for 3 points. The judge was Mrs Susan St John Brown.
This win gave Cricket the final points needed to complete her Championship.
Cricket is the 88th Champion for Jasiri-Sukari and the 3rd Championfor both of her parents, Leezza and Bronco.

May 2011 - Another Group Fourth for Bronco!
On May 14, Bronco (Gch Jasiri-Sukari Bucking The Trind) was awarded 4th in the Hound Group at the Camellia Capital KC show by judge Mr Eugene Blake.

April 2011 - Bronco Places Again!
On April 30, Bronco (Gch Jasiri-Sukari Bucking The Trind) was awarded 3rd in the Hound Group at the Lake Mathews KC show by judge Mrs Lowell Davis.

April 2011 - Group Second for Bronco!
On April 23, Bronco (Gch Jasiri-Sukari Bucking The Trind) was awarded 2nd in the Hound Group at the Angeles Canyon DC show by judge Mr Ray Filburn Jr.

April 2011 - Nice Weekend at the Hound Show!
On April 16, Bronco (Gch Jasiri-Sukari Bucking The Trind) was awarded 4th in the Hound Group at the Western Hound Assoc of So Cal by judge Mr Eugene Blake - defeating 366 hounds.
On the same day, Bronco's daughter Cricket (Jasiri-Sukari Congo Lines) was awarded Best In Sweepstakes from Mrs Heather Lindberg and Sweepstakes Group 3rd from Ms Julie Mueller.
The following day, Cricket duplicated these wins under judges Mr Antonie Groenendijk (Sweeps) and Mr Sam Houston McDonald (Sweeps Group).

March 2011 - Breed Win For Cricket!
On March 26, Cricket (Jasiri-Sukari Congo Lines) was Winners Bitch, Best of Winners and Best of Breed at the Kern County KC for 2 points. The judge was Mrs Catherine Bell.
Cricket is the 49th breed winner for Jasiri-Sukari and the 43rd to win a breed from the classes

March 2011 - Another Champion for Puff!
On March 25, Puff's son Franki (Arubmec's Franki) completed his Championship at the KC of Salinas show.
Franki is Champion number 18 for Puff.
Congratulations to breeder/owner Pat Cembura.

March 2011 - Good News from Australia!
On March 20, Jess Walker handled her girl Maggie (Aust Grand Champion Tamsala Mitena Magic) to BEST IN SHOW at the NAB Newcastle Regional Show.
Maggie is the 4th All-Breed Best in Show winner for her sire, Puff (Aust, Am Ch Jasiri-Sukari HR Pup N'Stuff), who now has Best In Show offspring in 3 countries.
Big Congratulations to Jess and breeder Jan Robert.

March 2011 - Another Group Placement for Bronco!
On March 19, Bronco (Gch Jasiri-Sukari Bucking The Trind) was awarded 3rd in the Hound Group at the Del Sur KC show by judge Mrs Gloria Gerringer.
Mrs Betty Anne Stenmark was the breed judge.

March 2011 - Another Group Fourth for Bronco!
On March 13, Bronco (Gch Jasiri-Sukari Bucking The Trind) was awarded 4th in the Hound Group at the Apple Valley KC show by judge Ms Rita J Biddle.

March 2011 - New Champion Ruby!
On March 07, Ruby (Jasiri-Sukari Black Eyed Peezz) was awarded Winners Bitch at the Scottsdale KC show earning a 4 poimt major and completing her Championship! The judge was Mrs Catherine Bell.
Ruby is the 2nd Champion for both of her parents - Bronco & Leezza and the 87th Champion for Jasiri-Sukari.

March 2011 - New Champion Powder!
On March 05, Powder (Jasiri-Sukari Powder Puff) was awarded Winners Bitch at the Superstition KC show earning a 4 poimt major and completing her Championship! The judge was Mrs June Penta.
Powder completed her Championship in just 11 shows over 5 weekends.
Powder is the 1st Champion for her mother, Spritie, and the 17th Champion for her sire, Puff.

February 2011 - Powder Does It Again!
On February 26, Powder (Jasiri-Sukari Powder Puff) was awarded Winners Bitch and Best Opposite Sex at the Silver Bay KC of San Diego show earning 2 more points toward her Championship.
The next day, at Silver Bay's Sunday show, Powder was Winners Bitch again for a 3 point major!
The judge on Saturday was Mr Larry Sinclair, and on Sunday, Ms Jane Ropollo.
Powder has only been shown on 4 weekends and has already earned 11 points and both majors!
We're very proud of this young girl.

February 2011 - A Very Successful Weekend!
On February 20, Powder (Jasiri-Sukari Powder Puff) was awarded Winners Bitch and Best Opposite Sex at the Santa Clara Valley KC for a 3 point major.
The same day, Bronco (GCh Jasiri-Sukari Bucking The Trind) was Best of Breed and 4th place in the Hound Group.
The breed judge was Mr Joe Walton - the group judge was Mr Mark Houston-McMillan.
The following day, at Santa Clara's Monday show, Powder was Winners Bitch and Best Opposite Sex again for 2 more points.
In addition, Lumo (Jasiri-Sukari The Line Tamer) was Winners Dog and Best of Winners for the final 2 points needed to complete his Championship.
The judge this day was Mr Mark Houston-McMillan.

February 2011 - New Champion Skippy!
On February 19, Skippy (Jasiri-Sukari Party of One at SkyHi) became a New Champion by winning his 3rd major under judge Eugene Blake at Plum Creek KC of Colorado show.
Two days later, Skippy was Best of Breed at the Colorado KC show over 5 other specials. The judge was Mrs Beverly Capstick.
Skippy is the 84th Champion for Jasiri-Sukari and the 10th for his dam, Fiesta (Ch Jasiri-Sukari Party Lines).
Congratulations to co-owner and handler, Laurie Stargell.

January 2011 - Two More Group Placements for Bronco!
On January 20, Bronco (Ch Jasiri-Sukari Bucking The Trind) was awarded 4th in the Hound Group at the Channel City KC show by judge Mrs Gloria Gerringer.
He followed this with another Group 4 at the Ventura County DF show on Jan 23. The judge that day was Mrs Monica Canestrini.

January 2011 - Starting off the year right!
On January 07, Bronco (GCh Jasiri-Sukari Bucking The Trind) was Best of Breed at the Inland Empire Hound Club show over an entry of 25 Basenjis.
At the same show - Bronco's son, Leo (Jasiri-Sukari The Line King), was Winners Dog and Best of Winners for a 4 point major. The judge was Ms Sharol Candance Way.
Leo was also Best In Sweepstakes under Ms Torrea Leborn.
